Condition:Used

Selling the motor and outdrive from my old boat. The hull needed extensive fiberglass work, so I ended up taking the motor out and scrapping the hull. Came out of a 1979 Glastron, so I assume the motor is the same year.

It's a Mercruiser 120 4 cylinder. Leaking water from under manifold, not sure if block or just gasket. Tried to get a pic the last time it was running. It was last on the water 2 summers ago. Tried firing it up last year, but it wouldn't stay running, carbs needs cleaning and/or adjustment. Carb was replaced about 8 years ago, along with a lot of other engine work:
complete overhaul: new rings, bearings, oil pump, water pump and thermostat, valve job, converted to electronic ignition, new alternator, new carburetor. replaced wire harness, and gauges and sending units for tilt/trim. replaced outdrive bellows and shift cable.

The outdrive is in good shape, except a chunk missing from the fin where it hit a rock. Propeller was replaced at that time. Hydraulics work fine (replaced one of the rams several years ago).

I literally just cut it out of the boat, so all mounting hardware, etc. is there. I will include the wiring harness with gauges, as well as the steering wheel and rack, that were replaced probably 5 years ago. Would prefer to sell all together, but will consider parting it out. Also have some various other parts, including a bimini top.

Would prefer local pickup (Syracuse NY, easy access from I-81 and I-90), though it is on a pallet. I could deliver for a fee, or get a shipping estimate. Contact me before bidding on anything other than local pickup! No international bidders (will probably make exceptions for Canada).

Opinion: Discovery Sport and the long-term ramifications of pandering to the crossover convergence

Wed, 03 Sep 2014

Having pored over the first pictures of the new Land Rover Discovery Sport and consumed the accompanying official literature, we’re left wondering why it shares so much of its design treatment with the Range Rover Evoque, while simultaneously removing the last vestiges of utility from the Discovery nameplate. From its virtually indistinguishable grille and lamp graphics, over its tapered roofline to its bespoilered tail, it’s hard to describe it as anything other than a derivative of the Evoque. The difference between a Discovery and a Range Rover it would seem, is a body coloured C-pillar.

Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 (2010) first official pictures

Wed, 31 Mar 2010

This is the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, a racing version of Merc's incredible Gullwing supercar. Unveiled today at the 2010 New York auto show, it'll start racing in 2011. Correct – the FIA’s GT3 races are designed for ‘near-series’ cars so costs are kept low, and there’s a burgeoning field with everything from R8s and 911s to BMW’s new Z4 racer.
