Paid $360 to JET performance for complete restoration. Has all the machine work done to base plate and throttle shafts, worked for a while but now slowly builds up fuel level and floods out. Lowered float but to no avail. I am sick of it and installed a Holley, This comes with a unopened refresh kit. I would also recommend a new float.
Brand:Rochester Mercruiser 260hp V8 Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Manufacturer Part Number:Qaudrajet marine spreadbore

Its best to let someone who understands Qaudrajets to take over, This carb runs great but in rough water it flooded out and did not idle well. It is fresh from JET and paid $360.
I lowered the float level and it did not help, it only took a little longer to flood out. It does run good at WOT and anything above quarter or more it just wont hold back the fuel flow at idle. I ordered a complete freshen kit to replace the needle and seat but in the meantime I gave up and stole the spreadbore Holley off my 57 Chevy and ordered J tubes for it. My loss is your gain.
It has the base flange freshly milled flat by JET and I did not over tighten it. I used the gasket with the plastic spacers in the holes.
The throttle takes a 1/4" bolt or pin. I think this could be used on Volvo Penta or OMC with this linkage. Marine jetting stock and checked by JET, no vacuum connections and top vent is marine style, J tube not needed on this one as the casting design precludes flooding outside the bores. I did not have that kind of flooding, I just get level getting too high and flooding out at the boosters followed by complete stall.
Please take this off my hands. I don't need the aggravation,I am a grouchy old retired guy but I do have time to package up to send out the day it is sold. I hope its soon. I checked no return on this item, I never want to see it again.
