McLaren Special Operations (MSO) P1 and 650 S Spider Pebble Beach debut

The McLaren P1 MSO (pictured) will debut at Pebble Beach 2014 It may be Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations in the news at the moment, but McLaren’s own Special Operations has been around since 2011, creating extreme examples of McLaren’s cars for deep-pocketed customers. And they’re back with two new MSO specials for this month’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The most impressive of the two MSO cars is, of course, a special edition of the already very special McLaren P1.

The Citroen DS 5LS R (pictured) heading for a Beijing debut The Citroen DS 5LS was revealed at the end of last year as Citroen’s biggest DS model to date, but as it’s aimed at China there’s little chance we’ll see it in the UK or Europe, where there’s no real market for a stretched DS5. And the same goes for the ‘Racing’ version revealed this morning – the Citroen DS 5LS R – which is heading for a debut at the Beijing Motor Show later this month. Under the bonnet of the DS 5LS R sits the 1.6 litre petrol turbo found in the Peugeot RCZ, where it gets 270bhp, but Citreon have managed to boost that to 300bhp – which should make putting the power down quite interesting.

Not content with its stunning Boxster S and Cayman S models, Porsche has released official details of its new range-topping mid-engined duo for 2014: the Porsche Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS. Both cars get more power from their flat-six engines and even more equipment to set them apart from the rest of the range, as well as that famous ‘GTS’ boot badge.
