For sale is a Gen 7( part #46-862914T10 ) style brass water pump for a Mercruiser I/O or Inboard engine.  These are brass water pumps and are known to wear groves into the brass between the impeller and brass housing.  I take the Gen 7 pump and install a kit with stainless Steel wear plates and an impeller that is a hair smaller and you end up with a pump that is stronger and more durable than the genuine Mercury Gen 7 pump.  I have installed many of these kits and have never had any problems.  The original brass housing is a soft metal and wears easily, this kit fixes that problem and uses stainless steel instead.  You will receive a pump that is ready to install after you swap pulleys.  freshly painted and ready to go.   If you have the pump with the air fittings on it for fresh water cooled motors just send me a message I have those too.

Pump is used on 4.3-5.0-5.7-V6-V8

Yearly driving costs rise 3.4 percent

Tue, 05 Apr 2011

This won't be a surprise to anyone--it's costing more to own and drive a car. Higher prices for fuel and tires, and a larger drop in the resale value of cars, pushed the average cost of owning a sedan to $8,776 a year, according to AAA of Heathrow, Fla. That's up 3.4 percent from a year ago.

The 500-hp club: The room is getting crowded

Mon, 02 Apr 2012

At a time when fuel economy counts for just about everything, there's still a horsepower war raging in the United States. The number of fire-breathing wedge-shaped supercars and hot sedans and coupes that can pump out 500 hp or better has nearly doubled in the past five years to more than 70. A decade ago there were just two members of the 500 hp club in the United States: the Ferrari 575M and Lamborghini Murcielago.

New Land Rover Freelander will actually be a Discovery

Wed, 22 May 2013

It seems – as we expected – that Land Rover are looking to make more sense of their range of off-roaders as new models are launched, and are going to concentrate on three core brands – Range Rover, Discovery and Defender – instead of the current mish-mash where many models really overlap with others (the top end Discoverys are really a cheaper Range Rover). So the next Freelander will become an entry-level Discovery with underpinnings borrowed from the Evoque (which is itself based on the current Freelander platform, a development of the Ford Galaxy’s platform), and arrive in both 5-seat and 7-seat guise, with the new Discovery ’5′ getting a platform based on the new Range Rover and perhaps spawning two models. The new Discovery range will be targeted as a ‘Lifestyle’ core range for Land Rover (much as the original Disco was) and the Range Rover range will be both sporty and luxurious, with a 7-seat Grand Evoque XL joining the current Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover.
