CRANK & PISTONS TURN FREELY, NO VISABLE CYLINDER WALL DAMAGE, OIL PAN IN GOOD CONDITION, BELL HOUSING OK, ENGINE COUPLER SHOWS TYPICAL CORROSION, FRONT PULLYS AND BALANCER OK,

IT WOULD BE ADVISEABLE TO DROP THE OIL PAN AND INSPECT BEARINGS BEFORE BUILDING UP THIS ENGINE, IT PROBABLY IS ALL OK BUT IT'S BEST TO INSPECT.

Huge storm batters South West

A MAJOR storm has battered southern parts of the UK, with winds of almost 100mph causing flooding and major travel disruption. The Met Office said wind reached more than 99mph on the Isle of Wight at 5am and the Environment Agency has issued 14 flood warnings for the South West, as well as 146 flood alerts for the rest of England and Wales. Both Severn bridges are closed, the A249 Sheppey Crossing in Kent is closed due to strong winds and there are 30mph speed limits on the Dartford Crossing in Kent There are also widespread reports of local roads in Cornwall, Dorset, Hampshire and Sussex blocked or closed due to fallen trees and flash flooding.

Jag designers light up London’s Clerkenwell Design Week

Clerkenwell Design Week might not mean much to car designers more used to motor shows like Tokyo or Geneva. But the five-year-old event is fast becoming a fixture in the broader design calendar, and has been sponsored by Jaguar for the past four years for good reason. In simple terms, Jaguar wants to be seen (and respected) beyond the automotive realm: "We want to connect with other designers and have our designers learn from designers in other fields," advanced design director Julian Thomson told Car Design News.
