10/20:16: Ok, you folks that have emailed and want me to ship...here's what I MIGHT do this weekend if no one buys this item by auction close...I am PLANNING on separating the upper and lower gear cases (3 bolts), and then the gear cases should be small enough that I MAY ship...haven't decided on this yet.  That said, my thought is that I should eBay sell the upper and lower gear cases as separate eBay items and ship..., just letting you all know what I'm thinking about.  Right now, an opening bid of $50 is ridiculously cheap and I CAN'T believe someone hasn't bid yet...wow.  Of course, this auction is NO SHIPPING, PICK UP ONLY.

- ----------------------------------

RE-LISTED DUE TO A NON-PAYING BIDDER.  *****Paypal payment is required within 3 days of purchase. Unpaid items are relisted at buyer's expense in accordance with eBay rules.  Due to non-paying bidders, if your feedback is less than 10 please contact me before bidding or your bid is subject to cancellation.*****

Here's a Mercruiser lower unit/outdrive inboard outdrive unit WITHOUT prop, and WITHOUT trim and tilt cylinders.

EASILY WORTH THE OPENING BID!!!!!! Try and find another one on eBay or anywhere for this kind of $$$$$.

For information purposes, I included a photo or two of it while it was still mounted on the boat, see photos. I have since removed it from the boat. This ad is for the outdrive only.  No prop, no thrust washer, no prop nut. Note that the thrust washer is pictured but it has since been removed.

Lower unit has corrosion from some saltwater use and some scrapes on the skeg from being in shallow water. Boat had been sitting since about 1992. I do not know the condition of this outdrive as I've never seen it being used or in service.

The prop shaft turns freely and feels tight and well lubricated in the gear case.

The universal joints at the top are rusty but the u-joints do flex, but note that the universal shaft will not turn...feels like it's locked in gear.

NO SHIPPING, PICK UP ONLY. It's big and heavy, and presently, I will not ship...it's just too much hassle to box it, etc...hence my very LOW STARTING BID to entice you to drive here to Aiken, SC 29803 to pick it up.  Please note that NO SHIPPING means that you have to come here to get it. Please don't email me and ask me to ship.  If you are not planning to pick it up, please refrain from bidding.

I'm about 20 miles from Augusta, Georgia, and about 45 miles from Columbia, SC.

I am advertising this item locally...and may sell it locally outside of this auction UNLESS I have an eBay bid.  Once I have an eBay bid I will not sell it locally but sell to the high eBay bidder.  That said, you should bid sooner than later.

If you win the bid and pay for it (within 3 days of auction end) I will be glad to hold it for you for up to ~2 weeks to allow you time to pick it up. Thanks, please email with any questions.

Tesla presents the $0.06 quarter-mile run

Fri, 14 Jun 2013

How much fun can you have for six cents? Depends on how much fun you consider crushing a Dodge Viper on the quarter-mile in a Tesla Model S. We showed you a video of that feat a while ago.

Opel/Vauxhall Cascada [w/gallery]

Wed, 17 Oct 2012

The Opel/Vauxhall Cascada effectively replaces the Astra Twin Top, but attempts to move the model upmarket as a separate product line. It has moved up a size to reflect its prestige aspirations: at 4,697 mm long and 1,840 mm wide, it's longer than an Audi A5. Like many of the latest generation of convertibles, the Cascada ditches a folding solid hardtop in favor of a lighter, more space-efficient and cheaper soft fabric set-up.

The Racing Reverend takes to the track in historic Jaguar

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

We're used to seeing a little fire and brimstone at the various NASCAR races across the country. That traveling circus is most at home when it swings through the heart of the Bible Belt. But when the English drivers of historic race cars start Tebowing at the finish line, it must be a sign.
