Race2Recovery gets set for second Dakar Rally

Race2Recovery, a rally-raid team filled mostly with disabled veterans, is headed to its second Dakar Rally in two years. The team took its two Defender-based Wildcat rally trucks, one T4 competition truck, one T5 support truck and two Land Rover Discovery (LR4 in the U.S.) support vehicles to the Le Havre port in France for scrutineering. Then they joined 650 other competitors in loading the ships bound for South America.

Lamborghini's drivetrain wizards say they have all the horsepower they need for their super-fast cars. So from here on, performance gains will come from using lighter materials to reduce vehicle weight, instead of from chasing more engine thrust. Ferrari F450: Last one to be auctioned Sunday to benefit earthquake victims

In an auction featuring some of the rarest, fastest and most head-turning Ferraris ever, a brand-new F430 may be the show-stealer. The Prancing Horse said Wednesday that it is auctioning off the very last F430 to roll off the Maranello production lines at the end of the year to raise money to rebuild the central Italian region of Abruzzo, which was devastated by an earthquake on April 6. Ferrari will work with local authorities to distribute the funds.
