Audi has taken its tin-opener to the RS5, to create this RS5 Cabriolet. Powertrain-wise, it's mechanically identical to the coupe, only now there's a soft-top roof that'll fold away in 15secs at speeds of up to 31mph.  Folding the roof swallows 60 litres of the boot's 380-litre capacity, but it's the sonorous engine that we're more interested in... McLaren P1 development car in action on video

McLaren has released video of the development version of the new P1 supercar undergoing testing ahead of the production reveal at Geneva. We did think, when we got an email from McLaren entitled ‘The next steps towards production’ on the new P1, that we might get some concrete details on exactly what the P1 will offer in the way of specification and performance. But no such luck.

Has Chris Evans bought a McLaren F1?

The rumour on the grapevine this morning is that Radio 2 man and Ferrari nut, Chris Evans, has traded a Ferrari to buy a McLaren F1 Chris Evans is known for many things; Radio 2 presenter, doting dad, one-time enfant terrible of TV, creator of CarFest and, perhaps most of all, the most high-profile collector of classic Ferraris in the UK. But the word on the grapevine this morning is that Chris has chopped in a Ferrari – and we don’t know which of his Ferraris – to buy one of the 64 McLaren F1 supercars in existence. If he has, and we’re digging for confirmation, then he’s obviously been listening to the advice a number of experts at the top end of the classic car world who believe the ‘next’ Ferrari 250 GTO (a car Chris owns) will be the McLaren F1.
