Mercury 65hp 4 Cyl Outboard Motor Mfg In 1967--for Parts Or Repair Only on 2040-parts.com
Crystal Lake, Illinois, United States
1967 Mercury 65HP, 4 Cyl outboard motor. Presumed not working. Removed in working order from a boat that I was given in 1992. It has sat since that time. The flywheel spins, the starter and coil look to be in tact, but there are some signs of a mouse chewing on wires. The impeller is likely rotted or disintegrated. When I removed the motor it shifted great, lower unit never saw abuse. Spent a lot of time trolling for Coho in the lower Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana ports on Lake Michigan. Purely a guess on the weight, but seems 250LB is about right. I'm willing to meet the winning bidder up to a hundred miles from 60014 zip code to transfer. Will not ship. Plan on picking this up and again, I'll gladly coordinate and try to help.
Dating was done looking up the serial number on marineengine website. They show the motor as being manufactured between 1967 and 1968.
Spinning the flywheel, compression is certainly noticeable, but I have not measured with compression gauge or applied power to crank the starter. No hoses or fittings with the motor, but as I well recall they were standard items.
I have not inspected the lower unit internally. This is being sold as is, non-working order. Round two, no reserve this time.

Insurance changes to make shopping around easier
Fri, 11 Jul 2014DRIVERS renewing their car insurance could find it easier to shop around or haggle for a discount under new proposals set out by insurers. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) said it has written to the City regulator, suggesting that new minimum standards of information should be set across the market. The standards would mean that renewal documents for motor and home buildings and contents insurance would include the premium that the customer started the year paying alongside their renewal quote, so that they could be compared more easily.
