New Ferrari Enzo – F70 / FX70 – on track
Thu, 26 Nov 2009The next generation Enzo (current Enzo pictured) is on track for release in 2012. With news the other day that the Lamborghini Urus is being lined up to take on the next generation Ferrari Enzo – the F70/FX70 – we’re now hearing that Ferrari’s plans to replace the Enzo are very much on track. It’s been a long time since the limited production Enzo – just 400 were produced – came to an end, and seven years since it was first announced.
Magna Electronics develops 'Touchskin' concept [w/video]
Tue, 22 May 2012Electronics firm Magna is working on a new technology it calls 'Touchskin concept' that has the potential to eliminate traditional switches and instruments inside vehicles. As part of its ‘Intelligent Surface Technology', the Touchskin concept is set to be an integral part of a system that allows the user to control the car via intuitive gestures – such as pinching, tapping and swiping – as we've become so familiar with when using smartphones. The potential design implications are easy to see with the large amount of space made available by removing the traditional instrument cluster and its wiring and the removal of wired-in switches and buttons.
Car Design Awards China 2013 winners revealed
Thu, 18 Apr 2013Six months of work by students in China prefaced the announcement of the winners of this year's Car Design Awards China, held at a glittering ceremony in Shanghai just prior to the opening of the Shanghai auto show. The judges were highly complimentary about the quality of entries and the rapid progress in design terms being seen in student work in China. Judges comments "Mature development and beautiful presentation, a most professional submission," was the comment about one of the leading entries.
