Up for grabs, I have a lower unit taken from a 1998 Mercury-Force 120 HP outboard with and XL 25" Shaft. The lower unit is in good overall condition. It is removed from a motor that overheated and had powerhead damage. The lower unit shifts well into all gears. The gear oil is clean as well. The skeg is in nice used condition. This is a 6 jaw reverse clutch lower unit. I recommend a new impeller on all my used lower units. I have not inspected this one. I know this will fit several year 120 HP Force-Mercury outboards from the late 1990's. I believe, but am not positive that it will fit other Mercury/Mariner outboards from the same era in the 110-125 HP range.

Lotus Hybrid – the Lotus Evora 414E – at Geneva

Thu, 25 Feb 2010

The only photo we have of the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid Last year we reported on a range extender engine developed by Lotus for use in hybrid cars. The range extender engine was part of a joint project between Lotus, Jaguar, MIRA and Caparo in conjunction with the Technology Strategy Board and was designed to provide charge – rather than drive – for hybrid cars. A solution that seems far more elegant than the current Prius-type setups.

The Bentley Continental GTC Speed 80-11 We went through the marketing reasons a week or two ago when Bentley revealed their Flying Spurs for the Middle East, the Continental Flying Spur Arabia and Continental Flying Spur Speed Arabia, and before that we had the Bentley Continental Design Series for China.  It’s all about keeping the customer happy and making them feel special. And this time it’s the turn of the United States of America to get a feelgood car made just for them.

Hyundai ix35 FCEV Hydrogen Fuel Cell in production by end 2012

Fri, 17 Aug 2012

Hyundai will have its hydrogen powered ix35 FCEV in production by the end of 2012 with full production by 2015. We’ve spotted the Hyundai ix35 FCEV (that’s the hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle) out in South Korea sporting a new nose a couple of times recently, which apparently doesn’t signal a facelift for the ix35. What it does signal is Hyundai’s commitment to the hydrogen fuel cell as the most sensible fuel for cars in the future and to remove our dependency on oil, and Hyundai has been out promoting that message in London.
