Michelin Challenge Design 2009

Tue, 20 Jan 2009

As the 2009 Michelin Challenge Design - focusing on the search for ‘America's Next Iconic Vehicle' - drew to a close at the NAIAS in Detroit, culminating in a press preview and an exhibition of scale models, the theme for next year's competition was announced: ‘Electrifying! GM recalls 2013 Cadillac SRX, Buick LaCrosse for software fix

Wed, 20 Mar 2013

General Motors is recalling about 26,500 copies of the 2013 Buick LaCrosse sedan and Cadillac SRX crossover for a software problem that could cause the automatic transmission to shift out of manual mode. The affected vehicles are equipped with the Driver Shift Control feature, which allows the driver to shift the automatic transmission similar to a manual transmission. GM said in a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the software problem may cause the transmission to shift unexpectedly from manual mode back to the automatic transmission, which removes any transmission-related engine braking.

Here are CAR’s Top 5 hatches of the 2014 Geneva show – and the customary dishonourable mention… The Mazda Hazumi concept is essentially what the new Mazda2 will look like when it hits showrooms – and it’s set to give the mainstream makes a proper fight. Mazda isn’t just on a styling roll of late – even the Mazda3 and Mazda6 are arguably the most handsome cars in their respective classes – but are building cars that are sensibly priced, affordable-to-run and damn good fun to drive.
