Four million drivers aged over 70

THE NUMBER of people aged over 70 who hold driving licences has exceeded four million for the first time, according to the RAC Foundation. The oldest licence holder is a 107-year-old woman, while there are 191 people aged over 100 who have licences. Once people reach 70 they must declare whether or not they are fit to drive every three years, without having to take a driving or medical examination.

And now we have yet another Special Edition Veyron. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille Special Edition (for that is the catchy little moniker Bugatti has bestowed on their latest effort) will be a limited run of three cars and is the first of six special edition ‘Bugatti Legends’ Veyrons planned for the VW supercar.

We’ll forgive you if you thought the One-77 had already been unveiled, but the car at Geneva was a technical cutaway rolling chassis – the first finished car is the one show in our photos above. The One-77 won more than 30% of the votes among the eight cars entered in its category.
