Alfa Romeo's return to North America has been delayed at least a half year partly because Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne is not satisfied with the design of the cars that will lead the brand's comeback in the crucial market, people with direct knowledge of the matter told Automotive News Europe. The delay also is a serious blow to Alfa in Europe because without the Giulia mid-sized sedan and station wagon the automaker will have one of the weakest premium brand lineups in Europe. BASF launches car seat design competition

BASF has launched 'Sit down. Move.', the first global car seat design competition. The contest asks for designers to submit their ideas for a car concept car seat using BASF materials and will be judged by three renowned industrial and automotive designers: Dave Lyon, former-Executive Director of Interior Design America for GM, industrial designer Konstantin Grcic and former Pininfarina designer Ken Okuyama along with BASF representatives.

Skoda is launching a special Urban edition of the Yeti baby crossover packing £2450 of extra equipment at no cost over the equivalent SE spec. The new Yeti Urban is based on the two-wheel drive model with a choice of the 104bhp 1.2 TSI or the 2.0-litre TDI diesel with 109bhp.
