Mg Tc, Mgtc Turn And Brake Lamps on 2040-parts.com
Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
Several years ago, after a few close calls in traffic, I decided I needed better tail light visibility for my MG TC. The original setup was two D lamps incorporating the turn and brake light functions mounted down low in the original position on the ends of the frame rails. Looking at a friend's EXU with the brake and turn lights mounted on each side of the fuel tank, I liked this setup but the prices for the original LUCAS lamps were too high to consider. I looked around and found really nice chrome housings in the same shape and configuration that I could mount in the same location at a fraction of the cost, less than the cost of a single EXU lamp for a pair of these. I purchased several sets from the manufacturer and mounted them to my car and several friends cars and we all have been happy with the increased safety and visibility plus the lights complement the lines of the TC well. The auction today is for a pair of these lights including amber and red lenses that are interchangeable depending on your state's turn signal laws. These use a double filament bulb so the brake and turn lights may be incorporated into the same housing. The existing D-lamps mounted lower do not need to be removed and you may wire into the existing circuits of your car. The kit comes with two triple chrome housings, sockets mounted into the housing for the double filament bulbs and No. 1157 bulbs included. A pair of amber lens plus a pair of red lens and mounting studs with nuts in the correct thread for your TC upper side panel holes and clear step by step mounting instructions. Nothing needs to be altered for the car's originality (important to me) and these are an afternoon project to install. There are several different wire looms on our cars and it is a simple matter to figure how to attach into your particular car wiring and the wires are hidden by positioning behind the fuel tank. Hope you like these as much as I do...Safety Fast! Thank you looking at my auction and Happy motoring! |

Armadillo-T electric vehicle concept folds up for easy storage
Thu, 22 Aug 2013From postwar Packards to Beetles old and New, there are no shortage of cars that vaguely resemble the armadillo. Yet none, so far as we know, have mastered the shelled mammal's impressive vertical leap -- and none possess that oh-so-armadillian trait, the ability to curl up into a little protective ball. Not more than once, anyway.
