One regrind: .020" under for the main journals and .010" under for the connecting rod journals. they're were two small areas (see pics.) that didn't clean up but were considered inconsequential and not worth taking the mains down another notch. Volvo discontinues S40 and V50 for 2012
Wed, 15 Jun 2011Volvo will discontinue the S40 sedan and the V50 wagon for the 2012 model year in the United States. The second-generation S40 came out in 2004, and the V50 debuted in 2005. According to Volvo spokesman Dan Johnston, S40 sales were down 29 percent by the end of last year and V50 sales were down more than 50 percent.
US Government urged to promote diesel cars, NOT electric & hybrid
Wed, 28 Dec 2011Diesel cars best option says former US Transport Secretary Former American Transport Secretary Norman Mineta is urging the US Government to promote high efficiency diesels instead of electric and hybrid cars. Just like the UK government, the US government seems obsessed with promoting electric and hybrid cars as the way of the future, something anyone who really knows cars will tell you is a nonsensical approach. Hybrid and electric cars are too costly to produce and have little appeal for the car buying public.
