Offered for your consideration is an original, Smiths Dual gauge, specific to & correct for the MGA Series cars. This gauge is specific to the MGA cars, it is not a generic dual gauge as commonly offered. Smiths part # GD 1501/01. It can however be fitted to many other British cars.
This instrument is in good, original, used condition. The water temperature unit has been bench tested and reads accurately. The capillary tube is in very nice condition with no kinks or breaks. Not a concourse level instrument but overall in very nice, sound condition, with a nice patina and significantly less than a reconditioned unit. If you require a 100 point, reconditioned unit I can supply that as well.

PLEASE NOTE!!!: This auction is predicated upon my receiving a CORRECT and COMPLETE rebuildable core in exchange. Broken or missing capillary tubes are NOT a problem as this is replaced as part of the restoration process. Guage face & lettering must be in good condition. A nominal fee will apply for damaged/missing chrome bezel & glass. If you do not have a core or are unsure as to the suitability of your existing unit, due to condition or application, please contact me for clarification prior to bidding.

GM, SAIC to develop electric cars in China
Tue, 20 Sep 2011General Motors will work with its joint-venture partner, Chinese carmaker SAIC Motor Corp., to develop parts and vehicle platforms for electric cars, the companies said on Tuesday. The automakers will use their existing joint venture in Shanghai, the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center, as the home base to develop the electric car--aimed primarily at the Chinese market. GM says it plans to use the platform, components and technology from the project to build electric cars around the world for various markets.
