Caterham creator Graham Nearn dies

Britain has lost another of the champions of its specialist sports-car industry, Graham Nearn, who died on Oct. 24 at age 76. Originally a Lotus dealer, Nearn built a highly successful sports-car business around the lightweight two-seat Lotus Seven, which he bought from Lotus founder Colin Chapman in 1973.

The Volvo concepts Coupe, XC Coupe and Estate have whetted the appetites of those keen to see new senior VP design president, Thomas Ingenlath's, renaissance of the brand since the former was shown in Frankfurt last September. The first product of these advanced design is the much-needed, all-new XC90 and Volvo has decided to lead its gradual unveiling with its interior. Alonso vs. Massa, Italian mountain edition

Scuderia Ferrari started the year off right with a downhill slalom race between two snow-going Ferrari FFs. Formula One drivers Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso were at the steering wheels. The occasion was the annual Wrooom ski and media event in the Italian Dolomite Mountains.
