Original MGTC engine block. The bores measure between 2.66 and 2.67. I don't see any problems with this except for the bottom of number 3 on the cam side is broken. Common in the T series engines. This could be sleeved and all would be right with the world. The id tag was missing when I got this block. I think that this may also work for TB/MGTB, but if you have one you would know better. MGTA was very different and this will not work. TD and TF are, while looking very similar are slightly different. In case you can't make out the casting numbers/letters they are; 24146 3A 39 11KS. It is missing one of the main cap nuts. Still has most of the oil galley plugs and the dummy shaft for the oil pump, but it may need to be replaced. Also, to ship this I will need to make a crate, so....add $50 for crate supplies, tweezers, and band aids. IF, you wanted, you could ship me an empty crate and I will be happy to place the engine block in there and split the empty crate shipping to me! Of course, you can always pick it up here, wait for me to get to Southern California the first week of June. I am occasionally in the SF Bay Area and Sacramento areas, so I could bring it along if you are in those areas. I will even be in Portland before the end of Summer. Too heavy to ship out of the country unless you have a freight forwarder. Please see my other auctions for more British/German/Italian car and motorcycle parts. I will combine shipping when it is feasible.

** A word about shipping/parts

Recently I had 2 packages show up oversea with postage due. Even though I paid all the required postage on my end. This is not my fault. I pay what the post office tells me to pay. While this is isolated, it has happened more than once now. Earlier in the week when I was in the post office shipping a box (almost $155) I was told that there may be more postage due when it gets there. Again, I do not have any control over this.

I also don't have control over transit time or the amount of time customs takes either in the US or in your country when it arrives.

I make the shipping quotes the closest that I can given the item is not boxed until the auction is over. In cases where I under-estimate the shipping cost and it is $5 or less, I pay it. In cases where I over-estimate shipping cost and I charged you more than $5 over shipping cost I refund you difference. In any case I try to ship the next day after the item is paid for. If the item is larger or requires crating or making a custom box or even buying a box it may take a few more days to get it shipped.

I do have control over packaging and the item description. I package it to make it through the handling process of the various shipping companies. I have not had anything damaged in shipping in a long time. I have had stuff lost, but not damaged.

If you feel I have not described something properly, please let me know. I ultimately want you to be happy with the part/parts. If you are not, tell me first. I really am easy to deal with. If you want to talk to me, just ask for my phone number and remember I live on the West Coast for calling times.

Tue, 01 Jun 2010

The facelifted Audi TT RS Audi have been busy putting out new photos of the Audi TT facelift – and even a video – to assure TT lovers that the 2010/2011 Audi TT Facelift really is a big change to the outgoing model. Audi claim the revised TT is more than a product improvement and that it looks much sportier thanks to changes to the front which make the TT seem wider and more stylish with it’s optional LEDs. They say that the TT’s new colours and shiny new alloys – in 17″ and 18″ options – stand out and enhance the TT’s timeless architecture.

Koenigsegg Agera at Goodwood: Up close and personal

Fri, 01 Jul 2011

Koenigsegg Agera on the Goodwood hillclimb We have to confess that we have a huge soft spot for the creations of Christian von Koenigsegg. So when we knew that friend of Cars UK Tommy Wareham, purveyor of all things stunning on four wheels at SuperVettura, was taking the only Koenigsegg Agera in the UK to Goodwood we thought Claire’s Goodwood Odyssey should continue with a good poke round the Agera. Understandably, Tommy wasn’t going to let Claire – or anyone else – loose on the Agera up the hillclimb as it’s a customer’s car, but he did chuck Claire the keys for a good look round, the opportunity to grab a set of Agera photos (below), and the chance to dream… Beautifully finished and oozing carbon fibre from every pore, the Koenigsegg Agera is perhaps the ultimate bonkers supercar, at an equally bonkers price – just think of it as a million pound supercar; it’s close enough.
