Sacramento, California, United States
Condition:New Brand:Boutoys Warranty:Yes Surface Finish:aluminum, brass, stainless

For use with my replica cowlings, shown in the last picture, and not included here. The mirror "cup" will accept a cut glass or plastic mirror (not included) or with the simple removal of the cup flange the "backing plate" (as shown in the next to last picture) will accept a custom mirror shape; (not supplied) kidney, oval etc. that is bonded down to this backing.

This design has  adjustable tension and positively locks the mirror from movement. The original mirror for the racecars (from Porsche) was a "cut down" oval window VW beetle mirror, they shortened the mount and then welded it. The VW mirrors do not hold adjustment in use. My design is very secure, and is hidden by the cowling.

Concept Car of the Week: Ford Mustang RSX Concept (1979)

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

In the late ‘70s, Ford commissioned carrozzeria Ghia to build a concept car based on the Fox platform to help promote its third generation Mustang. Probably inspired by the Escort RS's success at the World Rally Championship, the concept was dubbed RSX – standing for Rally Sport Experimental – and the Fox platform-based Mustang was modified as a rally car. To improve the handling, the wheelbase from the Fox was shortened by 142mm, the track was widened by around 25mm at the rear while the ride height was increased for off-tarmac stages of European rallies.
