CAR meets Porsche’s 2014 Le Mans chief

Audi has dominated Le Mans for the past decade, but new-for-2014 rules allow for any engine size and configuration, and instead focus on energy consumption per lap. With the slate wiped clean, 2014 will be Porsche’s best chance to beat its fellow VW Group member, and the strong Toyota team.

Drink driving deaths UP by 25%

Drink-drive related road deaths rose by 25% last year, with a staggering one in six fatalities on the UK’s roads connected to alcohol consumption, according to the latest government figures. Department for Transport (DfT) data revealed that 290 people lost their lives through drink-drive crashes during 2012, marking a significant increase from the 230 individuals killed in 2011. Eight hot rods compete for Ridler Award in Detroit

The 59th Annual Autorama has taken over Cobo Center in downtown Detroit with hundreds of hot rods, customs classics cars and motorcycles in what has been billed as America's greatest hot rod show. Judges have selected eight vehicles--dubbed the Great 8--as finalists for the coveted Ridler Award that will be presented Sunday evening at the show's conclusion.
