Land Rover Defender LXV celebrates 65 years of Land Rover

As part of the celebrations at Packington Estate – which was the original testing ground for the 1948 Defender prototypes – Land Rover are launching a celebratory Defender special edition – the Land Rover Defender LXV – based on the standard Defender and available in five different body styles and with the 2.2 litre diesel engine and 6-speed manual ’box. The Defender LXV gets the sort of toys no one could ever have envisaged on those early Defenders, including a Santorini Black or Fuji White paint job with Corris Grey roof, grille and headlight surrounds, full leather seats with orange contrast stitching, lots of ‘LXV’ badges and even the option of a Union flag on the back. Lowie Vermeersch resigns from Pininfarina

CDN has learned that Lowie Vermeersch has resigned from Pininfarina, where he was Design Director. According to our sources, the Belgian designer has left to pursue other as yet unnamed ventures in the design industry. Vermeersch has been at Pininfarina for the last 12 years, leading the design team that created the new Ferrari 458 as well as the Duettottanta and Sintesi concept cars.

Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel edition announced for 2013 release

Infiniti will offer the Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel version for 2013 delivery in a limited production run of 200 units. First released as a concept at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September, the Sebastian Vettel FX comes equipped with carbon-fiber aero accessories, a lowered suspension and a 5.0-liter V8 that churns out 414 hp. Pricing has not been announced, but rest assured that it will be geared toward those with no-holds-barred spending habits.
