New Mercedes SLK caught testing

Wed, 15 Jul 2009

The next generation (2012) Mercedes SLK caught testing at the Nurburgring The next generation SLK looks to be more aggressive in stance, with a nose that takes on the family theme from the new Mercedes E-Class. It seems likely that the new SLK will come with a new set of engines, with more than a passing nod to eco-concerns. In will come a 1.6 litre, four-pot supercharged engine that will pick up the mantle from the old 1.8 litre Kompressor engine – same power – or more – with lower emissions and better economy.

Frankfurt 2011: Mazda C-X5 2012 Debut

Wed, 14 Sep 2011

Mazda CX-5 debuts at Frankfurt We got the pre-Frankfurt reveal of the 2012 Mazda CX-5 last month, and we have to say it’s an impressive bit of kit and has looks as good as anything else in the sector. The new CX-5 is going up against some tough competition with very able – and very well-established – competitors like the RAV4, Tiguan, Kuga and CR-V. But, if people get past their antipathy twoards a brand that has the name of a light bulb, they will find the CX-5 is a market winner.

Saab back online as NEVS rebuilds the Saab Brand

Sat, 02 Feb 2013

The Saab website has now come back online with NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden) outlining its plans to rebuild the Saab Brand. Back in September the long-running Saab Saga was finally concluded, with the sale of what’s left of Saab after Victor Muller’s  little adventure saw Saab left as nothing more than another defunct icon brand from the annuls of motoring history, with NEVS taking control of Saab. The plan is to build a range of electric cars in Trollhattan and China, initially based on the Saab 9-3 platform but eventually developing the Phoenix platform in to the basis for Saab’s future.
