These 1928-31 Model A Ford tail light rubber pads and steel backing plates are a "Must have item" on your Model A. The tail light bracket(s) fit on the rubber pads protecting the fenders from scratching, vibration, sealing the bracket base securely on the rear fender, keeping dirt and moisture out. The steel brackets go on the underside of the fender and spread out the weight of the tail light, keeping them tight to fender, in turn keeping the fender(s) from Cracking. There's also a half round slot in each bracket where you'll tuck in the wires.
