Up for sale is a beautiful MOMO ALPINA Wood steering wheel, Model A38. The wheel is quite rare and especially in this condition and as a set including a original MOMO Alpina center pad, new horn button and hub fitment for older BMW models of 5 series. (I also have a hub for BMW 3 series like the e30 etc., if You need that one just let me know I will send it instead.) The wheel is used, over 30 years old but still in really good condition as you can see on the detailed pictures. Diameter is 380mm. This is a beautiful peace for any classic BMW interior and a great opportunity for classic BMW lovers! ;) If You have any questions please feel free to ask, I'm always ready to assist You, I have other hubs and horn buttons available if You need them or want a specific one for Your classic car. :) |

Mon, 31 Mar 2014The new Mercedes GLA down a salt mine in Cheshire Trying to find an unusual venue for new car launches is something that taxes the brains of car PR teams, and Mercedes came up with somewhere a little left field for the launch of the new GLA Compact SUV – the UK’s biggest salt mine at Winsford in Cheshire. The Winsford Rock Salt Mines – 130 miles of salt mining tunnels running under Cheshire – are the result of salt mining since the 19th century and now comprise of 130 miles of tunnels some 189 metres below ground, a void beneath the earth of 23 million cubic metres. Still a working salt mine, Winsford is also home to a massive storage facility for, among others, the National Archive, where constant temperatures of 14C make for an ideal storage environment.
Volkswagen plans 4 million cars from one platform
Thu, 12 Apr 2012Volkswagen is pushing the global-platform concept to a level unprecedented in the auto industry, introducing a modular platform this summer that eventually will be the basis of microcars, sedans, crossovers and SUVs for its four largest brands. While automakers now share platforms across brands and sometimes even segments, the VW initiative that starts this summer is far more ambitious than anything seen so far. By 2017, some analysts estimate, the MQB platform that debuts with the Audi A3 eventually will be used in 4 million units a year--close to half of VW's annual production.
