MG Icon SUV Concept revealed ahead of Beijing debut
Wed, 18 Apr 2012MG Icon SUV heading for Beijing The MG Icon – a compact SUV Crossover – has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Beijing Motor Show. Men with beards and pipes will be dismayed at the news that there is going to be an MG SUV, but there is and it’s the MG Icon – which might be setting the bar a but high. Looking like a cross between and MGB GT and a Juke, the MG Icon is expected to share a platform with the MG5 and MG6 and be powered by the 1.5 litre four-pot SAIC used in the Chinese versions of the MG and Roewe.

The publicity for the push by Citroen for a more up-market position in car buyers minds started in earnest when details of the Citroen DS Inside Concept were first revealed back in February. That was followed up by the reveal of the DS Inside Concept at Geneva the following month, followed by more details of the Citroen DS3 in the following months.
Ford Marks 30 Years Of Diesel Power
Fri, 23 May 2014THE MIGHTY Blue Oval is marking 30 years of diesel power this year. 1984 saw the introduction of Ford’s derv-powered Fiesta and, to illustrate the power of the black pump, the firm now sells almost 119,000 of them. According to the carmaker, today diesel power represents 38.5 per cent of all Ford car sales, making the introduction of its first mainstream diesel car a significant landmark.
