Toyota files for 'Supra' trademark
Mon, 17 Feb 2014Adding more grist to the new-Toyota-sports-car mill, the automaker has filed with the USPTO for a “Supra” trademark covering “Automobiles and structural parts thereof.” On one hand, it's routine for companies to protect their dormant trademarks; Toyota previously filed to protect the "Supra" mark back in 2010; that protection expired on January 27th of this year. The new filing was made on Feburary 10th, in the midst of the post-Detroit, FT-1 enthusiast froth. We can't help but hold out hope that there's a bit more weight behind this application than simple maintenance of the status quo.
BMW 6-series M-Sport Edition available in July
Fri, 17 May 2013If you're in the market for a BMW 6-series -- including the low-slung Gran Coupe -- but don't have the extra coin to step into an M6 or the M6 Gran Coupe, then BMW has the answer for you with its newly minted M-Sport Edition Package. Available for all model and engine ranges of the 6-series, Gran Coupe and convertible, the M-Sport Edition Package comes with an M aerodynamics group, 19-inch M light-alloy wheels, LED adaptive headlights and fog lamps, high-gloss Shadow Line trim, black brake calipers and dark polished chrome exhaust pipes. Interior features would make you think you're in an M6, as it comes with an M leather steering wheel, door sill covers, footrests, napa leather sport seats and optional white leather seats with orange stitching.
Changes at Nissan Design
Fri, 12 Mar 2010Nissan yesterday announced a series of changes within its higher-level design structure - with VPs responsible for design in Europe and America effectively swapping roles. Alfonso Albaisa, who became VP of Design at Nissan Design Europe's London-based studio in 2007, will be going back to Nissan Design America's San Diego studio as VP of Design. It marks a return to the West Coast for Albaisa, who originally joined Nissan in 1988.
