Who's Where: Jason Castriota opens own design consultancy
Tue, 23 Mar 2010Former Bertone and Pininfarina designer, Jason Castriota, has opened his own design consultancy based in New York and Turin. CDN recently caught up with Castriota - who is currently in New York - and discovered he's already working on a series of projects, despite having not yet officially launched the company. Castriota told us that it had always been his "dream to have my own consultancy in New York", yet what's clearly pleasing him most is the volume of work he's already accrued, without officially launching the firm.
Audi TT facelift for 2010 / 2011
Thu, 08 Apr 2010Audi's slightly nipped and tucked 2010/2011 Auid TT The Audi TT – formerly the hairdressers favourite car to mince around town – became a proper sports car when the latest TT hit showrooms. Even the soft top performed properly, and the Audi TT RS was – and is – a mini Audi R8. So having got so much right with the latest TT – and having got so much wrong first time out – Audi have been understandably understated with tweaks to the TT.
East meets West at NDE
Wed, 14 Oct 2009Nissan opened the doors to its European design studios late last month, part of the Japanese automaker's first ever participation in the London Design Festival events in London, UK. Showcasing the works of 20 designers under the theme of 'East meets West: the cultural crossroads of creativity', the exhibition also included a ‘Pecha Kucha' event with presentations from a further six influential designers. Held in Nissan Design Europe's ground floor conference rooms, the exhibition presented pieces from artists and designers around the world working across various disciplines, including photography, Fine Arts, textiles, product design, fashion and ceramics.
