New (2013) Lexus IS: Official Photos revealed

Wed, 09 Jan 2013

Lexus has revealed the first official photos of the new Lexus IS which will debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week. What we see is a much more dynamic looking IS, borrowing visibly from the LF-CC Concept we saw at Frankfurt last year, and promising to be the best effort yet by Lexus to put a dent in the BMW 3 Series. Prominent is the new Lexus spindle grill with a set of mean looking headlights with arrow shape LED running lights, with the cabin looking further back than the current IS, a coupe-like profile and a swoopy crease running back from the sills to the tail.

U-Haul has made moving simpler for many Americans, and its car-sharing program is cutting rates and adding more environmentally friendly rides in an effort to win over consumers. Called U Car Share, the program is adding the Toyota Prius, the Ford Focus, the Toyota Yaris, the Mini Cooper and the Ford Escape hybrid to its fleet. The registration fee is being slashed from $50 to $25, and members of other car-sharing organizations can have the member fee waived.

And real cars means the opportunity to review the Karma, something a US Fisker dealer has put on video. Of course, a video review of Henrik Fisker’s baby from a franchised dealer – even when they get a pro driver to do it – is perhaps never going to be the most objective piece of reporting ever seen, but it does at least give us the opportunity for a real-world view of the Karma.
