January’s top 10 best-selling cars: in pictures

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has released the UK car sales figures for January 2014 – and they represent an excellent start to the new year. There were 154,562 new cars registered last month – a 7.6% rise over January 2013, continuing the run of buyer confidence that saw overall sales reach a six-year high last year. The new BMW 6 Series Convertible gets a little less camouflage The replacement for the BMW 6 Series has been running around the world in a swirl of black and white camouflage for so long it will need a facelift before it launches. But the camouflage is gradually being reduced as the launch gets closer – perhaps even at Paris this year. We’ve had the speculation this last week that the new 6 series is the production version of the Gran Coupe Concept from BMW.

Italdesign Giugiaro tweets first glimpse of new concept

Italdesign Giugiaro has released the first of a series of teaser images of its new Geneva-bound concept car, exclusively to its Twitter followers. The Volkswagen Group-owned Italian design house has announced that from today it will be posting teaser shots of the unnamed prototype in the build-up to this year's Geneva show. When the show gets up-and-running on  6 March, Giugiaro will be tweeting directly from their booth with pictures, news and videos.
