Top Gear has been on the 2012 WRC Wales Rally with a Bentley Continental GT Speed driven by Kris Meeke with James May as co-driver. We know that Top Gear won’t be back on our screens – at least not with a new series – until 2013, because Jeremy Clarkson told us. But that doesn’t mean Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May are twiddling their thumbs waiting for the new series to start.

Indian Grand Prix: Vettel on pole in Red Bull front row

Sebastian Vettel has taken pole position for Red Bull for the Indian F1 Grand Prix tomorrow. Team mate Mark Webber is in second place. Red Bull may have had an up and down season this year, but it looks like they’re coming good as the F1 season reaches a climax.

New De Tomaso Pantera at Frankfurt

What is thought to be the new Pantera leaving the De Tomaso facility So far all we’ve officially had from the new De Tomaso, now run by ex Fiat man Gian Mario Rossignolo, is the not particularly well-received De Tomaso Deauville at Geneva in the Spring. It seemed an odd route for the revived De Tomaso to go, and an odd choice of name. The Deauville seems to be halfway between the (poor-selling) BMW 5-Series GT and a Porsche Cayenne.
