It’s been over six months since Ford unveiled the Focus ST concept at the 2010 Paris motor show, and with the production ST’s launch looming large for early 2012, the Blue Oval has started its PR push. These are the first shots of prototype STs testing at Ford’s Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium. So what do we know about the new Ford Focus ST?

XFR Jag the fastest ever

They took with them the usual holiday toys, but they remembered to pack a nice new Jaguar XFR, with a few mods necessary to run at Bonneville (roll cage, fire extinguishers, etc). They had a little fiddle with the ECU to derestrict it (and yield 600bhp) but, it is claimed, made no further mods apart from adding a spoiler at the back to stop the XFR taking off on the Salt Flats’ wide open spaces. Cadillac ATS to get turbo power

Cadillac has given us a sneak peek at the engine lineup that will power the 2013 ATS sedan set to bow in January at the Detroit auto show. The spotlight powerplant is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 270 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It uses a twin-scroll setup for a broad torque range.
