Top Gear Tonight: Burma Road Trip part 2
Sun, 16 Mar 2014Top Gear continues its Road Trip across Burma tonight In best Top Gear tradition, series 21 ended up just five episodes long, with last weeks episode being the first part of the Top Gear Christmas Special road trip through Burma. Tonight’s Top Gear – which you can think of as episode 7 of series 21 – is part two of the much delayed 2013 Christmas Special with the boys picking up where they left off last week, heading through Burma on the way to Thailand and the River Kwai. Having got to grips with their less than cutting edge lorries and suffered the Burmese equivalent of truckers’ overnight truck stops, Clarkson, May and Hammond are now heading further in to uncharted territory – certainly for Western Media – as they head towards Thailand and the River Kwai.
American icon, reborn: the 1967 Shelby GT500CR Continuation Car (2010): first official pictures
Thu, 18 Mar 2010We all have fantasies about meeting long dead heroes, dreams like seeing the Beatles play onstage, going dirt bike riding with Steve McQueen, or talking politics with JFK. An Oklahoma based custom coachbuilder called Classic Recreations announced at the auto-industry love-fest called SEMA last November that they had struck a deal with Shelby American to put one of the most famous Ford muscle cars ever built back into production - the 1967 Shelby GT500.
Lotus to create 100 new jobs (2013)
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Lotus is bouncing back from the five-car plan debacle that saw its CEO Dany Bahar dismissed for professional misconduct, and an ambitious plot to launch a Porsche-slaying five-car range go up in smoke without so much a test mule spy shot. The Norfolk-based outfit has announced today the creation of 103 new jobs to meet rising demand not just for its cars, but the brand’s legendary car set-up skills too. It follows a £100m investment from parent DRB-HICOM earlier in 2013.
