Jaguar Land Rover SVO Pebble Beach debuts – Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar F-Type Project 7 & ‘new’ Lightweight E-Type

Jaguar Land Rover SVO Pebble Beach debuts include the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 Jaguar Land Rover’s new Special Operations Division may only just have come in to being, but that’s not stopping them delivering three cars for their North American debut at the Pebble Beach Event later this month. Second of the SVO cars is the new Jaguar F-Type Project 7, which with its open-topped default mode will doubtless have American buyers from the sunny states opening their cheque books on sight.

November a strong month for car sales

U.S. auto sales--led by BMW, American Honda and Volkswagen Group--rose 15 percent to 1.14 million in November, exceeding analysts' forecasts and setting the stage for the industry to finish 2012 on a high note heading into the new year. The annualized industry sales rate, adjusted for seasonal trends, accelerated to 15.56 million--the highest rate since 15.59 million in January 2008.

Vauxhall/Opel Flextreme GT/E concept (2010)

This is the Opel Flextreme GT/E, a new concept that Vauxhall’s sister brand will unveil at the 2010 Geneva motor show next month. It’s Vauxhall/Opel’s second Flextreme show car – the original was revealed at the 2007 Frankfurt show – and previews how GM’s extended-range electric vehicle technology can be utilised in large cars – the GT/E uses the same electrified powertrain that is found in the more compact Ampera. The GT/E has uses the same E-REV (extended-range electric vehicle) technology that’s been developed for the Ampera.
