Range Rover Evoque Desert Warrior 3
Thu, 08 Nov 2012The British Excite Rally Raid Team has taken delivery of the new Range Rover Evoque based Desert Warrior 3 off-road race car. Under the skin, the Evoque is not exactly a Land Rover but gets its power from a 3.0 litre BMW twin-turbo diesel with 275bhp (or 350bhp when unrestricted) and 479lb/ft of torque which runs through a six-speed ZF sequential ‘box. The chassis of the Desert Warrior 3 is completely bespoke and made from T45 tubes and all designed in-house and tested over the last three Dakars.

Sat, 19 Nov 20112011 Los Angeles Auto Show Roundup This week saw the start of the Los Angeles Motor Show, so we thought we’d have a quick look at what was on the floor, including some of the stuff we haven’t already looked at. There was the ‘cool in white’ Jaguar stand and the latest Defender DC100 Concept, all prettied up in baby blue. There were Camaros and Mustangs, the new Bentley GTC (but no V8 – that’s for Detroit in January), a hot Beetle R and Volvo’s You Concept that points the way to the next generation of Volvo design.

Mon, 18 Oct 20102011 Volkswagen Passat Price & Model detail released Volkswagen gave us the very slightly facelifted 2011 VW Passat a few weeks ago. They like to call it the seventh generation Passat, but when we reported the reveal at the Paris Motor Show we said we struggled to see it as a anything more than six and three-quarters as its underpinnings are identical. Actually, Passat 6.5 might be e better description.
