Mopar 1948 Dodge D24 230 CID Rebuilt Engine

You are looking at a rebuilt Dodge D24 230 CID .040 over engine.
This model was used in Dodge vehicles years 1946, 47 and 48.
However, the basic engine design was actually used by Dodge from 1942 - 1954 with minor modifications along the way.
This unit is ready to go for a driver vehicle or restoration project.
It was carefully stripped to the block and hot tanked to remove all traces of oil, dirt, and debris. The water diffuser, which slips in the block behind the water pump, was in perfect condition! As you may well know, these alone are becoming scarce to find and usually don’t come out in one piece.
Inspected block for cracks under UV light after initial cleaning, bored .040 over to accommodate a set of 6 new pistons, pins, and rings, then back in the hot tank for a final cleaning.
Engine was reassembled with new frost plugs, cam bearings, rods, main bearings and a polished crank.
All 6 intake valves were replaced with new, and the exhaust valves refaced.
All 12 valve seats were reground as well during the process.
A new timing chain was installed on the timing gears (which showed virtually no wear) and valves adjusted to specifications.
This engine was then completely reassembled with new gaskets and seals.
Upon reassembly the generator, starter and distributor and oil pump were also rebuilt, tested, and installed.
New ignition components installed and new asbestos gaskets for the electric choke seat on the intake manifold.
This unit comes with the original fluid drive assembly, and housings (lower housing not shown installed in pictures). Accessory oil filter with new filter, and clutch fork (also not shown)
When completed, the engine was started and tested on the engine stand and operated with oil pressure of 40 lbs. at an idle speed.
What you will need for this engine are the following: fuel pump, fan belt, and carburetor, which are readily available. ( I stock them )
This will make a nice powerful engine for someone without all the hassle of have one sent out for a rebuild.
The engine stand is not included.

Nissan may build more Leaf EVs to meet growing demand

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

Nissan is making plans to begin building more electric Leafs as dealers clamor for more of the once slow-selling car. The automaker's North American factory chief -- who has been visiting with retailers in recent days -- cautions that production will move ahead in small and careful steps. But Nissan is already taking measures to increase its output of electric motors from its engine factory in Decherd, Tenn., says Bill Krueger, Nissan Americas vice chairman and senior vice president for manufacturing, purchasing production engineering and supply chain management.
