The new 2013 Citroen C4 Picasso has been revealed ahead of going on sale in the summer. It’s lighter, bigger and more frugal than the old C4 Picasso. Built on the same EMPS2 platform from PSA that will be used on the new Peugeot 308, the new C4 Picasso sheds weight by using aluminium for the bonnet, alloy components, a composite rear floor and tailgate to make the new C4 Picasso 140kg lighter than the old Picasso.

Eight years ago, the Peugeot 20Heart show car previewed the 206CC, which brought folding metal roofs to the masses. Since then, Opel has re-released the Tigra, while Nissan has retorted with the Micra CC in the mini-cabrio stakes. Accordingly, Peugeot will update their range with the 207CC, previewed here as the 207 Epure that will be displayed at the Paris Motor Show.

Porsche buys Nardo for high-speed tests

Porsche has announced it is to take ownership of the famous Nardo Proving Ground in southern Italy. The company's engineering consultancy wing, the Porsche Engineering Group, will assume ownership as of May 2012. Nardo is currently owned by Italian firm Prototipo SpA.  No fee has been disclosed by either party.
