New Jeep Cherokee revealed

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee – a replacement for the Jeep Liberty – has been revealed ahead of a debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show in April. So when Jalopnik published some less than good looking photos of the new Jeep Cherokee yesterday, the PR machine at Jeep went in to overdrive to bring forward the release of official photos of the new Cherokee, to hopefully stem the less than flattering comments on the new Cherokee’s looks. So here we have Jeep’s new, smaller SUV come crossover in all its glory.

As far back as October 2009 – when the Nissan LEAF EV was first revealed - we learnt that Nissan were planning the LEAF to be just the start of their EV adventure and that they were planning more electric cars built on the same underpinnings as the LEAF and one of those would be an Infiniti. VW and Chinese ‘in talks to buy Vauxhall/Opel’ from GM

GM is considering selling its loss-making European operations, it emerged tonight. If it goes ahead and severs ties with GM Europe, the General would cede control of Vauxhall and Opel, the second biggest car brand in the UK.And in another extraordinary twist, CAR has confirmed that top-level talks have been taking place between Volkswagen and the German government, which is keen to avoid Opel falling into foreign hands. Chinese car makers are circling but Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has close connections to Volkswagen chief Martin Winterkorn, would prefer VW to step up to the plate as a potential buyer than a Chinese brand.
