Alpina has released first details of the estate edition of its 5-series based B5 Bi-Turbo. The wannabe M5 Touring car will be officially unveiled at the 2011 Geneva motor show next week. Alpina has been tuning BMWs for more than 40 years with the factory's blessing and increasingly close collaboration. Presaging the recent move by BMW M to forced-induction engines, Alpina first turbocharged the 5-series when they launched the B10 Bi-Turbo of 1989.

Rinspeed Dock–Go Concept [updated]

The Rinspeed Dock–Go Concept car, devised by Frank M. Rinderknecht, will make its debut at next month’s Geneva motor show. It adds a 'backpack' to the Smart ForTwo city car, which can be changed depending on the needs of the driver, while a hybrid pack increases the operating range of the vehicle.

HALFORDS has been told to remove "misleading" pricing from its website after overstating savings on certain products. The car and bike accessories retailer listed two car radios in July, claiming savings of £20 on each one. But a complainant noted that the radios had only just been released, and challenged whether the savings claims could therefore be substantiated.
