Moroso's Accumulator connects to the pressure side of an engine's oiling system. When the engine is running, oil pressure forces reserve oil into the accumulator & compresses the air ahead. If oil pressure should suddenly drop due to hard acceleration/braking or severe cornering, air pressure immediately sends oil to the main galleries. When danger passes & the pump is once again primed with oil, oil pressure forces oil back into the Accumulator to prepare for the next emergency. Moroso Accumulators can also manually pre-lube engines before start-up to prevent cold-start scuffing and premature bearing wear.

  • VW Golf R Cabriolet confirmed

    Fri, 25 May 2012

VW Golf R Cabriolet The Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet has been accidentally confirmed with an image from China’s patent office. At last year’s Worthersee Tour Volkswagen brought along a pair of Golf Cabriolets – the VW Golf GTI Cabriolet and the VW Golf R Cabriolet – signalling some proper performance from a drop-top Golf. At the time we commented that the Golf R Cabriolet would definitely be made, but by the time Volkswagen revealed the production version of the Golf GTI Cabriolet at Geneva in March we were moved to ask “What about the Golf R Cabriolet?”.

    Jaguar XFR-S – tease take 2

    Tue, 27 Nov 2012

The Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful version of the XFR – will debut tomorrow at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but we get a second tease first. Jaguar’s punt at making the now ageing XFR credible against the new BMW M5 – the Jaguar XFR-S – is getting its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show tomorrow, but ahead of that full reveal Jaguar is teasing interest with its second teaser photo of the most powerful saloon they’ve ever built. Last week we got a front view of the XFR-S with its more aggressive nose (and Jaguar’s favourite ‘Speedy’ blue paint job) and this week we get to see the thumping great carbon fibre rear wing Jaguar has bolted on the back of the XFR-S.

McLaren P13 set to arrive in 2014

    Sun, 24 Mar 2013

The next new car from McLaren – codenamed P13 and set to take on the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 – now looks set to arrive in 2014. McLaren’s plans for a new range of road cars have been in play for a number of years, and we initially expected the 12C to arrive first to take on the Ferrari 458, which it did, followed by a cheaper McLaren set to take on cars like the Porsche 911 and Audi R8. We got the McLaren MP4-12C (which McLaren now like us to call the 12C) followed by the 12C Spider – just as we first thought - but it seems McLaren was under pressure from its new dealer network to get the replacement for the legendary F1 out next, so McLaren switched tack and delivered the new McLaren P1.
