Brands Hatch Revs Up For Porsche Festival
Fri, 22 Aug 2014PORSCHE fans will have a good reason to visit Brands hatch next month, as Porsche Club GB will host a new festival event at the Kent circuit on 21 September. Organised by circuit owner MSV in association with Porsche Club GB and supported by Porsche Cars GB, this will be the Club’s premier national event for 2014. In addition to a variety of on-track action, the venue is expected to be surrounded by all types and ages of Porsche, from the 356 of the 1950s to the very latest plug-in hybrid 918 Spyder super sportscar.
Concept Car of the Week: Chevrolet Express (1987)
Fri, 25 Jan 2013A fantastic selection of concept cars from the ‘80s were featured in Back to the Future II such as the Pontiac Pursuit, the Ford Probe or the Saab EV-1, but my personal favorite was the Chevrolet Express that almost ran over Marty upon his arrival in the year 2015. Before being a movie extra, the Express was presented in 1987 as another attempt from GM to adapt aircraft engineering to automotive requirements. GM had been experimenting with gas turbines for more than 20 years, dating back to the 370hp XP-21 Firebird from 1954, but that concept was quite primitive compared to its younger brother.

Mon, 27 Aug 2012Porsche has lifted the veil on the fifth-generation 911 Carrera 4 all-wheel-drive sports car ahead of a September premiere at the Paris motor show. It is expected to reach North American showrooms in February as a 2013 model. The 911 Carrera 4 has a widened body with rear side panels extending 0.9 inches beyond the standard rear-wheel-drive 911, which allows for wider rear wheels and tires.
