The fiber optic cables are fitted into the terminator connector before being inserted into the M.O.S.T plug which then fits into each module on the ring. No special tools are required to fit the fiber optic cables into the cable terminator or plug. The following link will provide full engineering details of the terminator: http://www.te.com/usa-en/product-1-1355531-1.html The following link will provide full engineering details of the male M.O.S.T plug which the connector fits into: http://www.te.com/usa-en/product-1-1355426-1.html M.O.S.T stands for (Media Orientated Systems Transport) fiber optic ring and is used by European vehicle manufacturers to interconnect the audio/visual equipment within their vehicles. We have been advised that other vehicle manufacturers also use the standard M.O.S.T fiber optic ring system including Aston Martin, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, General Motors, Hyundai and Kia. We can see no reason why this cable terminator and plug should not also be fully compatible with these vehicles.
The terminator will correctly align the two ends of the fiber optic cables into the male M.O.S.T plug and the plug will correctly align the two cables into the modules on the fiber optic ring. We can also supply female M.O.S.T fiber optic sockets, please see our other listings or contact us for further details. We can also supply the M.O.S.T fiber optic POF (Polymer Optical Fiber) cable with brass ferrule ends suitable for use in automotive MOST fiber optic rings to control audio/visual equipment in various lengths and we can also supply the M.O.S.T fiber optic cable in-line connectors. Please see our other listings or contact us for further details.
