Alfa Romeo teases production 4C sportscar

The 4C, which is expected to debut in March at this year's Geneva Motor Show, was first seen in concept form at the 2011 edition of the show. The image shows a set of alloys that also featured on the concept, indicating that the production version shouldn't be much different from the concept.

The system, from coatings color measurement experts X-Rite, combines color, texture, gloss and other surface characteristics into a digital material ‘description' that can be imported directly to computer-aided design programs. What sets it apart from previously available methods is its ability to collect information on complex materials such as textiles, leather, basketwork, stone, coatings and plated finishes, in a 3D scene lit by a virtual studio environment.
