New hardcore Ferrari confirmed
Thu, 08 Mar 2007By Phil McNamara Motor Industry 08 March 2007 09:01 A lighter, faster, more hardcore F430 is due this year, Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo hinted at the Geneva show. In 2005, Maranello unveiled the F430 Challenge, a racing version which competes in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo series. Enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating a roadgoing Challenge, and Di Montezemolo's off-the-cuff remarks at Ferrari's Geneva press conference suggests we won't be waiting much longer.
Smart Fortwo Lightshine launches
Wed, 12 Jan 2011Yet another Smart Limited Edition - the Smart Fortwo Lightshine You have to hand it to Mercedes – they don’t give up on Smart (or Maybach – another expensive departure). They keep churning out new cars (well, endless new limited editions, anyway) despite sales that seem to keep falling. Last year (2010) saw Smart sales in the UK fall by 8.5% and their sales last month (December 2010) were a woeful 57% down on December 2009.
Tesla Model S turns in to Jaguar XF

Tesla seem convinced – or at least they’re doing all they can to convince the public – that the Tesla Model S is a soon to be reality, despite all in the industry saying they can’t deliver what they are offering – a high-end, luxury, high-spec sports saloon with a 300 mile range – for the sort of money they claim. That money – as we learned recently – is to beĀ $69,500 for the Tesla S with the 300 mile battery, a price that’s had many scratching their heads over how Tesla can stick enough laptop batteries in the Model S to go that far, and how they can do it at a price that’s a good thirty per cent less than the ‘Lotus-with-batteries’ Tesla Roadster.
