Ford reveals S-Max concept ahead of 2013 Frankfurt motor show

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

Here's another one that'll probably go straight into the “not bound for United States shores” file: the Ford S-Max concept, which will make its grand debut at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. Ford says the S-Max previews a “future sport activity vehicle,” which may, in fact, be contemporary PR-speak for “mini-minivan.” Look beyond the carbon-fiber interior detailing (and add some door handles) and you'll see a vehicle that looks more or less production-ready. And actually – although MINI has in fact used the Soho moniker before (on the MINI Soho Clubman last year) - it’s a perfectly good name for the MINI, a car that still evokes the swinging sixties and all things London.

Tesla touts top sales at Detroit auto show

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Tesla credits the "exceptional cold weather performance" of its Model S for 20 percent-higher-than-expected Q4 sales of 6,900 units, bringing total Model S sales worldwide to 25,000 so far. In fact, Tesla says its sedan does so well in the snow that the rear wheels are the only ones that need any torque. "This car performs outstandingly in winter conditions," said Tesla vp of vehicle engineering Chris Porritt in a video released the day of the Detroit Auto Show.
