Missouri residents should add 7.725% sales tax, but for the difference in average shipping costs, I might as well pay that too.

Since 11/07, I have yet to miss sending an item the next business day or even the same day if paid for by 8 or 9 AM central time (except for that gully washer / hailstorm of April 08). Derryl, my mailman, picks up around noon CT. If it's an unusually large or heavy item I'll have it packaged and ready to go before listing.

PS - I go to auction about twice a month, dealing almost exclusively in quality tools, light equipment, and industrial consumables. Those days in between I'm loading stuff on eBay. No telling what I'll come across next.

Porsche reports big drop in sales

Well, it’s not exactly a surprise, given the doom and gloom in the industry at the moment, but Porsche has just reported a 27% drop in sales, down to 34,000 units, over the last six months. As you would expect, some models fared worse than others. The recently updated Porsche 911, which has had mid-cycle tweaks including the new PDK ‘box, held up pretty well.

Christopher Reitz joins Riversimple

Former Alfa Romeo Director of Design, Christopher Reitz, has joined the UK-based open-source car company, Riversimple. In a statement on Riversimple's website, Reitz said: "This really is a step into something different, to design cars that really are the future. Increasingly I have felt that it does not make much sense to move tons of steel around, using a lot of fuel and resources.

TV’s Wheeler Dealers - the programme that buys cars and fixes them up for a profit - is returning to the Discovery Channel on Monday evening (1 September) with a new series. In it, presenters Mike Brewer and Edd China will restore their 100th car. To promote its return, the programme has asked more than 2,000 people to vote for what they think is the greatest car of all time – as well as the top 10 previously embarrassing cars they’d now like to own.
