Concorso Italiano: A new section of last year's course, great cars and everyone's happy

Sun, 21 Aug 2011

More room, flatter fairways, more cool cars and even a section of barn finds and beaters made this year's Concorso Italiano one of the best ever. As you may recall from the 26- or 28-year history of this perennial classic, recent servings of Concorso Italiano have been a little up and down, with venue changes and field sizes that didn't always show these great cars in their fullest possible glory. Hamilton rises again

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

LEWIS HAMILTON stayed true to the philosophy he has inked on his back as a victory to savour ignited his Formula One world title challenge for this year. The words 'Still I Rise' are tattooed across the top of his shoulders - and also adorn his helmet from this season - and are a reminder that in adversity there remains the capacity to perform and achieve. After enduring an unhappy season-opening Australian Grand Prix two weeks ago that was littered with technical problems, one of which forced his retirement after just two laps, Hamilton rose above such disappointment to clinch his first win in Malaysia, and 23rd of his F1 career.

Melling Hellcat supercar (2007): first official pictures

Thu, 01 Feb 2007

By James Mullan First Official Pictures 01 February 2007 09:35 Bat out of hell: the Melling Hellcat Reading this on your computer screen almost certainly means that you’re sitting down. That’s good because you’re not going to believe the figures on Al Melling’s long-awaited Melling Hellcat supercar: a gut-wrenching 1175bhp and at least 275mph, making it potentially the world’s fastest road-legal production car. Yes, you did read that right – one thousand one hundred and seventy-five horses at your personal beck-and-call, capable of propelling this two-seater carbon-fibre-reinforced chariot from 0-60mph in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 2.6sec.
