The 2011 Lotus Elise will be shown at the 2010 Geneva auto show next month. We had our first look at the car that will replace the old 3-Series Coupe ahead of its debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show when the BMW 4 Series Coupe Concept arrived, looking like a winner even before it goes in to production. Even when you take away some of the fripperies of a concept, you’re still left with an impressive 4 series Coupe that’s longer and lower than the old 3 Series – and a lot better looking. In fact, the 4 Series looks a lot like a smaller 6 Series and is also likely to spawn a ‘Gran Coupe’ version at some point – just like the 6 Series – which could do very interesting things to sales of the regular 3 series saloon.

BMW recall 1.3 million 5 & 6 Series BMW is to recall 1.3 million 5 Series and 6 Series cars built between 2003 and 2010 to fix a battery cable cover. It’s been an expensive year for BMW on the recall front. January saw MINI recall 235,000 Cooper and JCW models to fix a faulty auxiliary water pump on the turbo, and now a massive 1.3 million BMW 5 Series and 6 Series cars are being recalled. The cars affected are the BMW 5 and 6 Series built between 2003 and 2010 where BMW has discovered a battery cable cover in the boot may have been mounted incorrectly.
