Mercedes-Benz to attempt longest-ever powerslide

Mercedes-Benz aims to top the current world record for the longest-ever powerslide this weekend at the Brooklands circuit in Surrey in the United Kingdom. Mercedes driver Mauro Calo will spend about four minutes sliding either an E63 or a C63 AMG sedan in a 55-mph, third-gear drift. The goal is to rack up 10,000 feet (nearly two miles) sideways, obliterating the existing record of 8,000 feet.

The eight production-ready Hydrogen 7 luxo-barges are produced on the same production line as the standard 7-series in Munich and meet all current safety and crash regulations. They form part of a 100-strong fleet of liquid hydrogen–powered 7-series models that spearhead BMW’s CleanEnergy programme, and in the UK will be used at high-profile events around the country to underline their environmental profile.

The RRS Autobiography will also get two-tone leather interior and be available as either a 3.6 litre TDV8 or the full-fat Supercharged version. Land Rover are also debuting a new rear-seat package for the full-size Range Rover.
