Ford begins building 1.0 Ecoboost, a microsized 3cyl

Ford chief exec Alan Mulally was in Essex today to launch the first 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine, which was developed by powertrain engineers at Dunton and Dagenham. Ahead of the media launch of the Aston Martin Rapide S in Spain, Aston Martin has delivered a Rapide S video to pique interest. Now we have the arrival of the Aston Martin Rapide S as a replacement for the Rapide, which goes a similar route to the DB9 with a more a aggressive attitude and more power. Aston Martin revealed the Rapide S in January in an effort to inject some oomph in to Rapide sales – as a replacement for the Rapide and not as an ‘S’ model to sit above it – bestowing it with 550bhp instead of the Rapide’s 470bhp, chucking in a new grill and boot spoiler and a set of the Gen 4 tweaks like adaptive dampers.

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept (2012)

Land Rover is exploring a convertible version of the Evoque, and will make a production decision ‘within six months’. Design director Gerry McGovern unveiled the ‘fresh out of the workshop’ concept at Pinewood Studios today (February 24); the car will make its public debut at the Geneva show in March. The Evoque convertible concept has a powered soft-top roof with a glass rear screen, which stows in a recess below the rear deck.
